I'm very new to this forum but I've been on the Teamspeak for months playing Mechwarrior Living Lengends (which I highly recommend) with Kasatka/Kateryne.. he suggested Blood Bowl and this league, which sounds brilliant.

So, I'd love to play hear is my details;

1. Name: Blood Bowl Login: Nathan
2. Team: Blood Wyrms
3. Dark Elves

Welcome to THN and the Blood Blood League, Hobgoblin! :)

Again, roster updated up to this post. Peversely, we're still at an odd number (15) but we'll sort that if it comes to that.

Noted on Trax completing his registration this evening. Would someone kick Huung to sort his registration out?

If both those registrations come in, we'll still have an odd number. Angelic, Mk1, either of you ready to register more firmly?

Surely you could just set up a placeholder team in the system and award a win for whoever plays it that week?

Hmm, there's a problem with that. A single account can only have one team in any given league. Now, I haven't tried making a second account from my instance of Blood Bowl, which might get us around that problem, but in the absence of that it would require one of us to buy a second copy of Blood Bowl to provide an even-up.

I have BB and can provide a placeholder team if need-be

ah, I wasn't aware the game tracked all of this. I thought you were using some kinda 3rd party program to handle things :)

So I've been kicked, my original post is updated. What with the only team I have experience with being overrun already I've decided to just play WoE as if they were Skaven :p

All updated again.

Stolen from Panda in the other thread, I can recommend reading the articles on Blood Bowl tactics, which cover some of the basics of defending your ball carrier, blocking and so on.

But that aside, I suggest having (at least) two teams; one in the league and one very similar for public use. Then you can use the public one for friendly games against others (as the AI isn't a good representation of how people play) and thus learn more about how the game works as much as you'd like.

Also, we'll very likely work to keep this league shorter and simpler to see how it all goes and then come back for more if there's still interest (and I think there will be).

That said, this will require a level of commitment of time - probably 1 1/2 hours a week for 6ish weeks.

Um. 6ish weeks might be a tad difficult for me, as I'll be going on vacation in august. But I'll be home in between sailing trips and bike trip so I hope it can be sorted out...

Absolute worst case is that Ghostwolf posts you a 1:0 loss with whoever you were drawn against for that week. It's not a great outcome, but it won't derail the league.

Panda with issues...

OK guys. Entry now closed. Ghostwolf, myself and Ronin will set up the league tomorrow night, and will probably ask people to register their teams with the league online by the end of the week so we can get underway ASAP. A post on how to register a team with the league will be put up tomorrow. Mainly because we're too tired now.

Thank you to all who have registered. Registrations are now closed for this league but as mentioned before we'll be keeping this one fairly short and simple so there'll be plenty of chance to join in for #2.

I count 18 teams, which (pending confirmation from Ghostwolf, the league manager) will probably break down into 3 leagues of 6 people. That'd mean 5 matches each, thus 5 weeks. We'll try to get the league kicked off before the weekend.

A new thread will follow with details on how to join the league, find out what fixtures are up this week and so on.

For now, hang onto your hats...
