Tips please

So I’m up against Hoverdog and his Human team. They are quite scary looking for my unskilled Chaos side, as they have about 4 players with Guard, a +AG Lino and a Blitzer with MB. Hoverdog also won the most recent Crunch Cup, so he is a coach to be feared.

We both have 12 players and as his team is quite skilled, I will get 150k in inducements. What do people think I should go for? I was thinking either a ref bribe and bloodweiser babe or else a wizard. I will be outbashed this game, due to my opponents Guard advantage and also the theme of my team build (only 1 Chaos Warrior), so I might not get the chance to put the boot in much. Therefore maybe the wizard? :S

I'd personally favour the wizard. With that much Guard he could easily be causing problems with them as cage corners, at least the wizard means he'll have to screen a little more with them if he wants to avoid being fireballed, and spreading out to screen nullifies the Guard somewhat.

4 Guards !?! Doesn't he have other skills ?!

Take a Wizard. Right "WIZARD!" on a post it right before you. Blast him when he joins too many people. Pick ball... score... :D

So, just finished playing my game against Lebe...possibly the bloodiest affair I've been part of...some really, really, really cruel dice for Lebe's Sausage Wavers led to a 6 - 0 win for Air-On-My-G-String...I don't think there are any words to describe the change in fortune for a tree that spent the majority of the other games on the deck...

Nuffle and short legs did it for my team... 6 injuries (-1 move and 1 niggling) and 1 death total. It was going to be 2 deaths but apotechary managed a Badly hurt on my Clubfoot fling... who then got back next drive and promptly was badly hurt again.

I really tried to move ball ahead but to no avail. Comrade phil got very good kick off events and was always getting the ball. My champion tree managed to botch several double die RR and failed sequentially two GFI rerolled... 4 GFI failed.

There was this 1 GFI that hurts the most. If he had managed his team mate would have crowdsurfed a catcher. Then I would have picked up ball and delivered to a catcher that was headed to the tree and flying transport out of the backfield.

Well, that was one hell of an entertaining match.
I received, strolled with the ball nicely into Narly's half, ever vigilant of the hireling wizard (of whom in fact Jimmy wasn't remembering at that time!). However, as I was about to pass to score, I messed things up a bit, leaving my thrower next to a lying goat. The goat sacked my carrier, obviously. Then his extra arms beastman picked up the ball, dodged out and passed to another sitting near the los. After a bit of rummage, I finally got the ball back, but it was turn eight. Fortunately, I made the hands-off and scored. 1-0.
Half time and all KOed goats (four of them) wake up. Still they're losing by one player (two injuries, including -AV). Narly forms a nice cage, I again make a few stupid mistakes in positioning and 1-1 in turn 11. Enough time to score, ain't that right? WRONG. Jimmy finally remembers about the wizard, KOs my thrower, picks up the ball in one TZ and hands it off to another goat. I can still recover it. But first the ogre goes bonehead at a crucial time, then my trusty blitzer Frost (already a TD, casualty and a KO) fails his blitzing dodge (with a reroll). I am caught far off my position now. Still I can make a blitz, arrow arrow to skull arrow. Damn. Narly clears the place, and is one step away from scoring. Still I somehow manage to blitz his ballcarrier again, with the ball landing in two TZs. Not a problem for the goats - one marker is blitzed, a beast gets the ball and dodges to score, no RR needed (not that there were any).
Turn 15. The thrower is fast asleep. I flood the backfield with my players, hoping one will be able to get the draw. Garm the +AG lino picks up the ball. Narly marks what he can, blitzing the catcher. I have two options now: one is a lineman - need to clear his marker with the ogre, make a pass to him and make two GFIs. The second, get the catcher to TD line, make a hand-off and then a pass.
I chose the first one, and Horgh scored! It's the first time he's done anything :D
MVP went to Frost, who's got 27 now! Garm reached 16 thanks to a completed pass.
The dice luck was really funny: Narly's got +18 on d6 and -4 on 2d6 (yet out of those 6 successful blocks, four were KOs and only one was a stun), while I had 3 on d6 and +15 on 2d6!

Well Vel, what times are you free this week? I'm starting a new job so my shifts are a bit up in the air at the moment.

Sorry about the late reply, I'm always free in the afternoons ie. when i wake up.
If you catch me on steam then just give me a shout.

I have never seen a 6-0 scoreline... EVER!

Man thats crazy stuff. Seriously nuts.

Actually, I feel quite bad now for suggesting to Lebe at the beginning of the season that he play Flings as this was a more relaxed and "easier" league. I pointed to my Flings winning the division last season as proof. He's probably just about ready to club me over the head for telling him that...
