Just as an aside for the newcomers, THN has a teamspeak server, with a few dedicated channels for bloodbowl. If you are, in the NFL parlance 'mic'd up', please feel free to join us, laugh at outrageous blood bowl events, talk smack about bloke's snotlings, moan about dice etc.

Planning on doing a (Disney version) Seven Dwarfs-themed Dwarf team where they'll skill up based on personality:

Doc (Runner) - Leader, Pro (self-explanatory)

Dopey (Runner) - Bone-Head*, Dauntless, Nerves of Steel (yes, I actually plan on on rolling BH with him before each action. Dauntless and NoS because he's too dumb to know he should be scared.)

Happy (Blitzer) - Grab, because he wants to give you HUGS! After that, Juggernaut, because he REALLY wants to give you HUGS!

Sneezy (Blitzer) - Mighty Blow. Fear the power of his SNEEZE!

Grumpy (Troll Slayer) - Mighty Blow, the crankiest of skills. Kick would be funny because I can see him angrily booting the ball.

Jumpy (Troll Slayer) - Ideally, he rolls doubles so I can get him Jump Up. Otherwise, +MA is an obvious choice. Beyond that, not sure. Juggernaut, probably. If you're wondering who Jumpy is, keep reading.

Bashful (Blocker) - Fend. He's shy, you see.

Sleepy (Blocker) - Wrestle, followed by Piling On. Any skill that allows him to lie down and take a nap.

Lazy (Blocker) - Guard, Stand Firm. Very lazy skills. :)

Stinky (Blocker) - Sadly, I can not give him Foul Appearance. Guard, as his odor is somewhat distracting.

Awful (Blocker) - Dirty Player

For the lowdown on Jumpy and Awful see here. Awful truly would have been the greatest of all Disney Dwarfs.

All skill or future team member suggestions are welcome. Coach White awaits your input. :)

I cannot even begin to express how awesome I think that is.

I did something a bit similar, though not quite as extreme, for Storm Heroes. Human team with all players named after action heroes, ideally from the 1980's and 1990's, with no character from the same actor in the squad at the same time. Skills chosen to fit the appropriate hero.

Ok, so ghostwolf, Ronin and I got together for our little 'State of the THN BLood Bowl Union'. Sorry it was a little later than expected.

We want to continue the league essentially along the lines that it runs at the moment, but to expand it to allow for new additions.

We will still run 1 game a week, sunday to sunday, just as before, and will be running with standard rules, no extended inducements.

We particularly like the 6 game seasons, followed by promotion and relegation, and we think that you guys do too, so this is something we want to keep, as well as the 'bye week' placeholder teams giving a free 2-0 win and the associated SPP windfall.

So, to keep things along those lines we're going to try and add a 4th division, leaving us with 4 divisions of 5 teams each, and 1 placeholder team in each.

This leaves us needing a total of 20 'real' players, which we think is an achievable target, based on the fact we had 15 last season, and the new influx seems to make us nicely up to 20.

We'd like everyone to please leave a post from now on in this thread registering for the league, we'll deal with teams and placing people in divisions as and when.

In the spirit of a continuing veteran league, we're happy to accept NEW teams up to about 1300 to 1350 TV, assuming that that is an accurate representation of the Team's value, so no hoarding loads of cash to keep your TV low for league entry and then buying a bunch of rerolls and stuff to immediately boost your team back to full strength. Preexisting THN league 3 teams of any value are fine.
We're also happy to take new, ahem, virgin, teams, and we'll try to seed you appropriately by a mix of TV and skill level, to ensure fun games all around.

So, with that said, we'd like you to post your definite acceptance to play in this thread, along with your cyanide coach name, steam name if you have one, and if you've got your act together, your team name, race and Team Value. Oh, and we're running LEGENDARY EDITION

If this is sorted, hopefully we can set the league up and get registrations sorted for a sunday kickoff.

These are the players we're 'targeting' based on expressions of interest: (no particular order)

That would take us to the nice, round 20, and we should be able to find the 4 placeholders easily enough.

Thanks for your patience guys (and girls, like Trax).

I'll check on the Cyanide name to make sure it doesn't have a space or anything. Have never used it actually. If I need to play some matches to get them up to a desired TV, just let me know.

Feel free to play them up to 1300 if you want. It shouldn't make a lot of difference, as I think we'll have a fair few new teams anyway, and dwarves are pretty brutal right out of the box.

Alrighty. Shouldn't hurt to get the practice in as I've, um, never actually played Dwarves. I understand they're slow. :)

Some THN blood bowl history:

Waterproofbob's dwarfs trounced virtually all comers in THN leagues 1 and 2, and made people cry and winge.
