Blood Bowl Off Season 3.2

@ Snap Wilson - that is the coolest theme ever! My Hobbit themed team bows down in your honor. :D

Here is an exerpt from the description of the unused Dwarf 'Jumpy' - "JUMPY: He is in constant twitchy fear of being goosed, but is not goosed until the last scene. Whenever he hears a noise behind him, he starts, and his hand automatically protects his fanny."

What the hell does "being goosed" mean? I assume it must have something to do with his "fanny"?

@ Moguai - Great to have you on board. Even though you are playing as Chaos, you cant do any worse than your current Norse team! I recommend going for a cool theme. Chaos are great for that, as with access to mutations, you can do all sorts of awesome themes.

Steam name: Narly Bird (but rarely ever on)
Team name: Lord of the Half-rings
Race: Halfling
TV: 1,110 (i think)
Experience: Intermediate to advanced

I'm happy to go up against much higher tv teams (actually would probably prefer this), as it gives me access to juicy Halfling Chef and Deeproot Strongbranch. And nobody says "no" to Deeproot (just ask Bloke). :D

Thanks for the welcome but I am not sure, if I am going to survive another frustrating team experience.

Apart from one draw I have lost all of my last 8 or so games. The frustrating thing is not that I play extremely bad or anything, it mostly just hinges on one or two key mistakes I make and then everything is falling apart around me and I can't recover. It would, frankly speaking, be ridiculous if it weren't so goddamn demotivating and leading me to question if I just suck at this and should call it quits or what the hell nuffle has against me.
(Sorry about all the bitching, but it is starting to get to me that I can play a good/decent game and then still get kicked in the teeth)

That's why I am seriously thinking about going some alternative route other than Chaos. Maybe Norse:D at least I know how much they tend to suck.
But seriously, I'll take another look at Dwarves, Undead/Necromantic or maybe Orcs again.
Or I'll say screw it and build a 1 or 2 RR Chaos team with Minotaur and as much Warriors as I can fit in there. At least then I'll know, why the hell nothing works:rolleyes:

I too am happy to go up against much higher tv teams. I hope there are no minors in the league due to theme... :)

Thank you, kind sir! "Being goosed" means being pinched, grabbed or poked in the fanny, a common schoolyard prank in the days before television and internet. How it relates to kids wearing their pants around their ankles nowadays I'm not sure. On my team, Jumpy is considered just a tad excitable, making him an ideal Troll Slayer. :)

Sometimes losses can get you down. I think that it helps playing against nice coaches, as i find that even when you lose, you can still enjoy the in-game banter. That's why i never usually play in mm and prefer leagues with friendly coaches like THN. :)

8 losses in a row is tough and i can see why you are questioning whether bb is the game for you. I really think that Norse are a tough team to play against good coaches though. For more serious leagues like the CC, perhaps you are better off going as 1 of the more competitive teams.

Anyway, this isn't the place to chat about that. I hope you have good luck with your Chaos this season. And if you do manage to get a couple of wins, you can always then decide to go with a cool theme, even just for 1 or 2 players.

Residing in Japan and therefore having the Japanese influence, i have always been tempted by some sort of tentacle monster build. :D

Note: Team edited with slight name change (7 Dwarves FC) to make me feel a bit more European.

The team played one MM (against Chaos) and got a 1-0 win! And nobody died! Whoo-hoo!

@Moguai: I think (and hope) you'll have a different, and more positive experience in this private league. It's a totally different way to play the game. If you're having trouble dealing with long losing streaks, I suggest talking to Ghostwolf or thatbloke, who have enough experience as losers that they could open a counciling service!

@Lebe666: No minors here, just a miner (me). Disgraceful, classless jokes are positively encouraged and par for the course.

@Kas: Ok, hope Aelisha's time frees up soon. We may have a spare slot then, which we can probably manage to fill.

Across all of THN League 2, league 3.1, and league 3.2, I've won a grand total of 6 games out of the last 25...

Don't let 8 losses get you down ;)

Also, here's my registration:

Cyanide coach name: thatbloke
Steam name: thatbloke
Team name: -
Race: Khemri

I've not created the team yet so no idea of whether I should just go with a virgin TV1000 team or maybe play a handful of games to get the TV up a bit... suggestions?

Maybe play a handful of games just to get to grips with the team a little?

I'll probably be free for a friendly this evening if you fancy.

I would recommend playing a couple of matches. Khemri are so much better when you can get some skills on the TG's.

Regarding a team name, i recommend you go for something with the word "boner" in it. Perhaps a little too high brow for some of the yokels, but us intellectuals can always get a laugh out of it. :D

Miners still exist ?! No wonder you feel down and have issues ! :D

Just a technical question... will Narly and I share the same newbie division ? I fear for the health of said newbies faced with fling-power. People don't react well to being beaten by plants and small people... hehe ... I also have 1090 TV if that is a problem tell me. I have 15 flings now... can cut back if that is considered unfair.

Luck: depends on what I sacrifice to Nuffle on the matchday

still thinking about the team

Brazil has one of the biggest mining sectors in the world...

I worked in Goias for 2 months a few years back.

1090 is fine for TV
