On that note, I would prefer being put in in one of the earlier years also, as I'm not a DF vet either. Some of the finer nuances like medicine, fishing, advanced animal handling etc still elude me 
It would even fit time-wise, as I have exams starting January 10th for which I intend to start cramming by Christmas.
