Fallout: New Vegas

I believe that last year some one posted about this games release but I have yet to see an up-to-date thread on the game it's self, So I guess I'll start it =].

Well I like it more then fallout 3 for the way that everything is a bit more tactical and you have to think about the perks you take. As always I go Guns and Sneak but this game allows you to be alot more sociable rather then relying on guns and knifes.
So just to get an idea whether anyone is coasting the Vegas Strip like me...

I would be if my game didn't decide to crash to desktop every 10-25 minutes without warning. I have done the Powder Ganger attack at the start about 3 times (it crashes during or after, randomly).

Hmmmm... not had that problem, try doing something different before the quest like another quest and see if it works, if not then set it too one CPU affinity.

i pre-ordered Fallout: New Vegas the second i could on steam, meaning i got it at a discounted price.
So far it is one of the best games i have played in a long time, better than Fallout 3 indeed. But yes, there are current issues with stability and bugs however the developers are releasing patches regularly to iron out flaws.

I've been playing it a good bit and enjoying it. I've had a few crashes and one or two BSODs when a song ends. It's got a few PC issues where if you have anymore than half a dozen NPCs on screen the game crawls at a snails pace. The amount of songs are pretty pathetic also and the radio will repeat itself so much that you actually consider turning it off.

If you're skeptical I'd leave it for a month or two 'til the big things get ironed out either by the devs or user made mods.

Sorted out the problem somehow, seemed to be a bug where if I flicked between weapons too quickly the game dies. Nothing like switching between shotgun, rifle, pistol and dynamite sticks in rapid succession to bring a game to it's knees.

Got a bit farther now that i have passed that stage, blown enough limbs off with dynamite. Nothing says overkill like throwing stick after stick into a small corridor where many men are tryign to charge at you. Especially when you fail to see there are none left and you're still throwing them in.

I can understand the dislike of Fallout 3 but Fallout 1 2 and tactics were awesome and New Vegas is like Fallout 3 graphics with fallout tactics game play :P.

I'll grab FO:NV on rental for the 360 but strongly doubt I'll buy it. Played Oblivion for around 8 hours, then got bored. Play Fallout 3 for about 8 hours, then got bored. Not sure I was getting my money's worth from either. Just can't really see what gets people excited about them.

The games not for everyone, it's all about the role-playing i like to watch TV and play it cos then the game doesn't get boring as fast lol.

I say it's more about shooting, and following a story with side quests. Just 'cause it has an inventory / equip system doesn't make it "all about roleplaying"

Its made by the guys from the original development team for Fallout 1 + 2 thus is awesome. They managed to claw the rights back from crapthesda soft.
