Lucky 38 is the only upgradable home you can have in New Vegas. You can use the terminal to buy upgrades and to sell some of your gear.

The Lucky 38 is also a pain to travel to as there isn't a quick-travel straight to it's location. I used Vic's shack in the starting area for a while, but lately i just sell what i and my 2 companions arent carrying.

You get various rooms and access to factional safehouses as you go, im just not sure if the containers in them respawn at all.

WARNING!!!!! save your game more then once in different places both my auto and personal save have corrupted and therefore I have lost all game data! Hopefully this bug will get fixed soon.

That sort of mistake I find unforgiveable. Empires: Total War did that to me. Never played it since.

It has seriously pissed me off enough for me to think about not playing the game again... however i'm gonna play batman for a bit and after i41 i may feel more inclined to play it again...

Hehe, I have like 20 saves because of the bugs in fallout, and ive only played for about 5 hours :P

I finished my first playthrough of about 50 hours or so without any savegame bugs. Onto my second savegame of 7 hours so far and fine.

I am constantly loading... not had any save bugs just yet, i just tend to do stupid things (like creeping into a nightstalker nest at level 5 and angering the Den Mother, only to find it is not advisable to engage one until minimal lvl 10...)

Bugs eh? How bad we talkin? like 'oh every 8 hours or so it crashes bugs' or 'sometimes crashes/freezes bugs once every hour' or like 'release day of empire total war bugs'?

The only dominant bug I get is the 'fall partially through the ground' bug done by ants, making their heads untouchable but makes their torso's much easier to shoot at with a sniper-modified rifle (scope + silencer upgrades for varmint rifle = teh sex). Other than that I have had no issue (a few teething problems at first, but it seems those don't happen anymore).

I'm getting interesting crashes when talking to people. The game is fine 99% of the time but the second i try to end a conversations with someone or buy some items the game wigs out on me.

I'm liking it so far. Have to take a break this week though as i did nothing else with my free time last week but play fallout...
