Hi, I think we have enough people for an on board social group, with a thread per book, even if we're migrating this year, doesnt mean we cant be organised, plus each thread could have a proviso(or [Spoilers]) that their may be spoilers.

Correct me if i am missing the point.

No, this is probably a reasonable use for a social group. I'll sort one out over the weekend.

Must... get past... basic grammatical errors...

It's hurting me already and I'm barely a few pages in. The story had better make up for the language.

Do you have the hardback copy? Because most people who complain about the grammar say it's because of the paperback or e-book.

I have a paperback.

If it's correct in the hardback, but 'incorrect' in the paperback, doesn't that seem to suggest the fault lies with the publisher, rather than the author?

Feel free to point out the occurrences.

I could be our copy of the e-book then. I'll try finding another copy see if it's better. I could be the publisher I haven't read enough of the book to judge the author.

y ur cuntree have nay librys

As opposed to Lincolnshite, where no libraries stocked anything by China Mieville, and would order you in a copy at a cost of £4. Might as well spend the extra quid and actually buy the book from Amazon.

You in the same lincolnshire?

Their system says they have:

Paperback
City & the city
: 2010
By Mieville, China
Copies: 4 On Order Copies: 0 Reservations: 0

And that, obviously, includes the copy in my hand.

Boston is like the furthest out you can be from Lincoln while still being in it. None of the libraries around use have it even the ones close to city centre.

and tbh, I did check the whole of Lincolnshire via their online library system, and it showed nothing. Weak.

Edit: So in their FAQ you get:

How do I reserve an item that is not in the catalogue?
You can suggest a title that we can purchase using an electronic form. Please note there is no guarantee that we can/will purchase the book.
We can try to borrow the book from other counties for fee of £4.00
This is known as an Inter-Library Loan
