And now, to make things easier for you guys: Regular Expressions!
Find your favourite tool that has find/replace using regular expressions (I like textpad,) and replace
[aeiou][aeiou]+
with
ÿ
and then replace
[aeiou]
with
y
And you're all set!
I'd make a php script that does it, but I have nowhere to host it!

That had started to strike me. All we need, now, is a good reason to replace something else with double Ds. Isn't a "dd" in Welsh used for an "s" sound or something?
