Aliens vs Predator

DEATH MATCH:
If you love a game with frantic, brutal chaos then Death Match in AVP multiplayer is for you. It’s all about getting the most kills in the time limit set. Players can also win the match by hitting the target score before anyone else.

INFESTATION:
For total over-whelming mayhem, nothing comes close to the tension and potential for pant-wetting scenarios than INFESTATION. One player starts the match as an Alien Hunter and their task is to kill the Marine prey. When a Marine player is killed they will join the Alien Hunter team and help to kill off any remaining Marines.

MIXED SPECIES DEATH MATCH:
just like Death Match, but with mixed species. Two teams, made up from all three species fight to get the most kills in the set time limit or to reach the target score before the other team.

SURVIVOR:
For the ultimate test of stamina, play Survivor Mode. Survivor allows for up to four players to enter an arena to fight waves of progressively stronger aliens. Each arena will be set up with two main areas. One will be a platform which is relatively easy to defend; the other will be an area where ambush by aliens is more likely. Supplies of health and ammo will re-spawn in this second area.

PREDATOR HUNT:
If you’re after a more stealthy multiplayer game go for Predator Hunt. In this mode one player is selected to become the Predator Hunter, the rest of the players take the role of the Marine prey. The Hunter must use the Predator’s stealth abilities and advanced equipment to pick off the prey and score points. The Marines will need to defend themselves from this threat and if possible, to kill the Hunter. The predator player only gets an amount of time as predator before a new predator takes over, this time is extended with kills.

SPECIES DEATH MATCH:
Species Death Match pits a Marine team, Alien team and Predator team against each other in a race to get the most kills within the set time limit or to reach the target score before any of the other teams.

DOMINATION:
Take capture the flag to a whole new level with Domination. In Domination two teams fight for ownership of Control Points around the level. Owning a Control Point gives the team a small and steady, stream of points. The more Control Points owned, the more that team scores. A team will win when their score has reached 100 points.

Looking forward to FFA temple and for species DM, im hoping we can play an unbalanced(if people are up for it) match.

I think my favourite modes were INFESTATION, DOMINATION, SPECIES DEATH MATCH.

Last week we played a mixed species dm with myself as a marine and 2 aliens, against 2 preds and 1 alien. This was fun, but very spooky knowing i was the only player not able to scale walls, it didnt help that the 2 aliens on my side were rarely near me, they beat us by alot on the scores. The preds seem to be the most powerful class (when not rushed or to a lesser extent hunted) outside of predator hunt.

Alot of usful information in the stickies over at steam forums

I briefly considered it today, watched the AvP Requiem movie to get into the mood and then watched some AvP2 gameplay youtube videos. I was quite surprised to see that a game which costs 50euros has such horrible graphics >.< As a result I don't think I will be getting it, not unless some fact comes up that makes me change my mind.

Sucks to be me since we dont have Amazon in CzR :-/ Shipping from amazon.co.uk is 8pounds for me, which still makes it more than viable, but...

EDIT: It looked shiny, so I grabbed it off Game, will cost me less than from Amazon, should arrive within 3-5days, yay :)

Come on, it kinda has :) Possibly not for its time, but in the light of recent games it's obvious I was apalled when thinking it was released days ago :P

And how exactly, may I ask, do you know I will be playing a snack marine, eh? :D

Marines are pretty vicious actually!

As it has been said before Predators need to find their equipment before they get really dangerous, while aliens are dangerous from the get-go. Marines start off with their Assault Rifles which can take out an Alien or Predator relatively easily as long as they don't get the drop on him. ;)

As for flares, they actually draw out bot aliens from hiding, right? PC aliens can just ignore them (other than the light that may uncover them)...
And yeah, from the gameplay videos I saw assault rifle squshes them aliens quite good, but if they are not controlled by an idiotic AI but rather a smart player there is no way they won´t get "a drop" on a marine, as you said :) Not in shadowy maps, which I get the feeling are most of them.

What makes you think player aliens care about light? They still just go "DIE NOW!!!"and spam attacks till their target dies. :P

And it DOES have good graphics, you prob just watched someones video who had it set on low or something.

(I usually play low on all games i have to reduce FPS.)

I watched videos of AvP2, which is, like, ancient. I stood corrected by Trax, see the light now (heh) and know what I mistook for what else.

Well, I kinda thought aliens should be susceptible to gunfire, hence lurking in shadows :P If they are not and just go w+m1 or something, it would be boring...

They are, you get stunned if hit by a pred, or a pulse rifle.

And Gombol, you reduce graphics settings to INCREASE FPS, not reduce it :/
