I could understand if i had posted a link or something.
Reading up on the forums terms and conditions, it mentions keeping the site "work safe".
Now if mentioning a certain piratical website is cause for moderation, then surely any mention of places such as 4chan should be moderated for containing not only illegal content but being morally corrupt?

Saying that you're going to pirate games, the beginnings of problems.
Posting warez, slapping occurs.
This was a type 2 situation. THN discourages warez, not least of which because everything on THN links back to Haven at the end of the day and it is not our place to put him at risk in any way.
Again, mentioning 4chan in a discursive way, no issue.
Posting links to 4chan for something relatively clean and amusing, no issue.
Linking to the seriously sick and twisted end of 4chan, expect to be slapped.
Always a grey area is this and difficult to call. In this case, suggest we just leave it and move on.[/mod]

Regarding the end of the alien campaign
I found that the npc aliens took care of one of the first lesser preds, and the 2nd one was really hard, and the elite predator was really hard at first, until i realised you could just take it out with tail attacks, you know elD, having done hard i think i might try alien on very hard before i finished pred, alien was soo much fun.

Having tonnes of fun with this game. Gotta say i'm loving the single player. Just done the marine campaign. The first few lvls are panicfiretastic.
Multiplayer needs dedicated servers but then again what doesnt these days.

I'm officially bored of this game now. Done a few levels of Marine and it's just not scary, I'm afraid. I get no satisfaction from shooting aliens. And some of the "oh god" moments (more in spoilers) just annoy me.
can't even be bothered to try the Predator. First game was so much better, especially the marine campaign with swinging chains setting off motion trackers and stuff...

The bit where you are in a big stairwell with like 5 other marines. You start downstairs, run upstairs to meet everyone, guy downstairs yells, you run down, he's dead, people upstairs yell, you run upstairs and everyone is dead. I mean, seriously, where did all the character development go? These people were meant to be holed up hours, and then they all die. I couldn't care less about them as I only met them, which makes me think they are complete idiots.

I read in a review, i cant remember where, that one of their problems with this game was that you had to make your own "omg" moments because the scripted parts were inadequate, i would say that that depended, after playing the game, on what effect the alien trilogy(not a mistake 
) had on you. I found that the first few levels of the marine were very thrilling, but my imagination does tend to run a bit.

I found that the first few levels of the marine were very thrilling, but my imagination does tend to run a bit.Not finished pred, but having played 1/3 of it, i am very unmotivated to continue, mainly because on hard3/4(with chkpnts) it is just too easy, thats not to say i dont repeatedly have to restart checkpoints, due to trying to make it more fun, kinda like how i spend more time on gta4 with the cops than the stories.
Anyone want to get together and play some games of this?

I'd probably be up for playing some of it multi-player sometime, though currently I'm at Defcon: "Oh God I have three essays back to back and I've not done any work due to horrifying circumstances at home", so I'll have to take a rain-check on it alas.
I'm doing the Alien campaign and having trouble killing the duo of predators on Hard mode, is there more to it than just clawing them and trying to grab them or is that the only method and it just takes a long time?

I found that distracting them while the AI aliens did the job for me worked best. - I did not find this intentionally.

Gotta say had an ace time tonight with a bunch of the thn regualrs. Some of the AVP game modes are a riot. I think infestation still tips the bill in sheer mayhem.
Had a good night lads nice to know AVP's still got it.

After a good 5 hours playing this with the THN guys tonight(my first MP), especially the domination(not the best, but good for teamgames, i think this game could fit in very well with THN.
Please add this to the games list.
We played all the game modes, and generally speaking all were fun, tho i found 2 particular maps got boring a little to quick.
As it supports 16 players and we get to control team balancing our selves, i really look forward to a bigger thn game.
The temple level is extremely memorable.
Even on the big maps using infested or pred hunt mode(these ones have mostly marines on 1 team) even the big maps didnt feel big, as the aliens and preds are not limited on their movment.
I didnt like how the predator is the hardest class race to use though imo - what gives?

I reckon the reason predator is hardest is because it starts with no weapons, opposed to AVP 2 where you do get a few (depending on server settings, ofc) to start with. From what I have seen, once you get the combi-stick or plasma caster, the predator becomes a real rape-train of win.

I think i got a few kills with the predator, i dont know if there is a freeforall deathmatch with no class restrictions, but if there is i can see that being alot of fun on that map, motion tracker just cant be beat.(oh yeah you know you want to contradict me with regards to that map!)
Or dont step in puddles, or more to the point what are you holding in them that can leak out.
