I'm just playing against bots so far so that I'm not a total embarassment when it comes to playing with humans. Sure, I'll be an embarassment anyway (who wouldn't be with DotA being as it is?) but at least not a total one.

I added you instead. I have been playing against bots mainly. Did my first co op against bots last night. It was nice to have real people about and it also made me stick to the hero I chose instead of quitting out after 10 mins.
I also played with someone on my friends and we were communicating with our voices like a proper team should and it was great, he slowed the enemy and I pummelled their face in. Good times. =]

I've played it a little. I do think I asked around when the beta started if anyone else was interested, good to see it's looking up

Scratch that, Dusk777 became captain awesome and scored me an invite, and i can get thatBloke to hug him today for free, so all is well in the world.
How does one score said invites? I am in the beta and I'd be happy to assist with other invites if I knew how...?

While I have the game and I'd definitely go into 5vs with you guys, I'm still torn between DOTA and LoL. I have invested a fair bit of money and time into my LoL account and I know the game - I don't think I have enough time and energy to learn a whole new game, especially one so deep. Also I'm not convinced DOTA actually offers more than LoL in sense of gameplay, tactics and graphical style (I prefer the cartoony LoL tbh).
All I'm saying, I'll probably play LoL instead of DOTA for the reasons listed above.

I got it by trading for it with a game I had in my inventory since the crimbo sale. The game was worth 24.99 but had a 37/100 meta score so thought it was worth it to have a friend playing with me. You can pick them up on reddit for trades of stuff and keys etc.
I was also torn between DoTA and LoL for a while but the more I play DoTA the more I love it. It already feels much more balanced than LoL and I love the fact that all the heroes are unlocked and the only thing to buy whether with in game money or real are cosmetic items. The rune system annoys me a bit but as always these are just my opinion. =]
