Blood Bowl Off Season 3.2

I do have a 0 RR Wood Elf team of 1060 (970 right now, due to a MNG catcher) that I could play instead if that makes things easier for you. :D

And the human team is currently 1270 and 12 players, where I could well stay a few games if preferred (but since my plan was for a second thrower within a few games I figured I could present the team as if he was present)

I see this thread now much like the university tuition fees situation.

The TV cap was placed at 1300, with a little leeway to 1350 max.

Everyone, like every university, has rammed themselves right up to the cap.

A little unimpressed...I was hoping for a SPREAD of TV. Now Ghostwolf, ronin and myself are going to have to assess which division to put you all in mostly by our subjective, incomplete knowledge of your skill at the game.

Well, you know, giving someone limits to work to means they'll bump themselves up as "eveyone is doing it".

TBH I was expecting new teams to start at 1000... not sure how it's going to work if I play some games with a new team and get slapped or have a couple of injuries.

Still, with my awesome skills you lot will need all the help you can get to keep my little fellas out of the end zone! :p

I was expecting more of a '1300 give or take' mandate than a range to fit within. My team is barely going to be 1200 by the time i enter though.

In that case, I'll finish up this game with the lizards, and keep them at whatever they finish at, likely around 1100.

Indeed, which is why I'm just generally unimpressed, partly at the prevalance of that attitude in society. I'm also mostly unimpressed by my own naivete not to have expected it.

The fact that some people (like you) are starting completely afresh was one of the reasons I was hoping for a broad range in TVs

Looks like people are willing to start lower as well now, so hopefully everything will be fine.

No, no worries it's fine, did I accept your team earlier? I can't remember...

I haven't applied yet, since all I have is a "might get lucky" ;)

So make your pick - themed 1300:ish humans or crazy 1000:ish elves (and give me a go-ahead) and I'll apply. :)

Use whichever you prefer. I will say it looks like we might have a dearth of elf and agility teams this season, so, for the sake of variety, they may be a better choice

Apologies from here. I was going to go in at high 1100s, but wound up getting in one more game and it wound up being kind of a bonanza skill-up wise, including a +ST. I don't care what division I get put in, if it helps. I'm here for the journey, not the results.

Oh yeah, a quick, stupid question since I felt misleadingly antisocial in my "preseason" games. What's the keyboard command to chat?

Oh, do we have to apply for the League in Blood Bowl again? I thought we were just posting our stuff in the thread. . . .

There's a separate 3.3 league up and running now, as the league had to have a division added (and a lot of teams removed) - so it made more sense to start from scratch.

I think it is space, or enter? Isn't there a thing to click on on the screen?

You indeed do need to reapply I'm afraid...

...due to the fact it's impossible to add an extra division without recreating the league from scratch.

If its tv 1000 teams your after, i'm happy to put the Flings on hold for a season and enter a rookie Chaos team (seeing as Moguai wont be going Chaos anymore). After reading the Chaos discussion on this thread, my interest in going for a Chaos Lord and beasts theme has really peaked.

Im envisioning the team as just the 1 Warrior, who is the Chaos Lord, leading his Beastman and Mino onto the field. You can do it for 970k (including 3 rr's). I might then go a mutations theme on them, where every player will have a mutation by 2nd skill and the Chaos Lord will only get mutations. It could be really fun!

The league already has another Fling team anyway, with Lebe's Sausage guys.

What say you admins?

I'm open to suggestions for a team name and also player names. I'm thinking something along the lines of "Mutant Nation" or something aluding to mutations. Any ideas for players names?

Wasn't there a band called "Think about mutation"?

No idea. But i was thinking about Irradiated Wanderers as a team name, led by Lord Narly the Irradiated.

The story goes that they broke into a dairy farm just as the milk was being irradiated, but one of the beastman, not knowing what the switch was, flipped it up to maximum power. And they got blasted with nuclear mutating powers.

Now they wander the globe in search of irradiated dairy products and playing bloodbowl matches. For it is only irradiated dairy products that will slow down their mutations, otherwise they would all be Chaos Spawn by now.

I know that Panda is an expert about all things nuclear, so he can probably back me up in my claims that too much irradiation would lead to massive mutations that can only be slowed down (but never stopped), by eating regularly irradiated dairy products. Mutations such as tentacles, claws, prehensile tails, etc.

After having at least 2 university lectures on radiochemistry, I can confirm this is DEFINITELY how it works
