The SMP client is working brilliantly, and I'm getting points like never before :D

We're hovering just above 2400th place, out of over 100k teams. So we're doing quite well! Yay for us! Although I'd _really_ like to see us get in the top 2k teams. Isn't there anyone with a PS3? They're a LOT more efficient than a lousy quad-core :P Also, if anyone have a dual/quad core and isn't using the SMP client, get to it!! Furthermore, you have to manually update your client (I.e. download the latest one) once in a while. I believe the latest one is from sometime in early february, and that the earlier ones stopped working then...

Keep up the good work!

To put it simple: Use your spare processing power to further studies in molecular biology, specifically in the field of proteomics. 54 peer-revewed papers have been published to date. How it will help you personally is by furthering studies in medicine and pharmacology, and doing so with government-held (i.e. free-for-all) patents (I hope. Haven't checked thoroughly. But it's stanFORD*).

*ahem. ninja edit.

Ah ok, so put simply, it's trying to use our processing power to help find cures for assorted diseases? Sounds like a worthy cause, I'll look into it, Thanks mate.

The GPU(s?) in the PS3 is optimal for doing these kinds of calculations. And since all of them are the same, I guess that makes it easier to program?

and don't forget, you get points! :D

Yea i failed to read up on the points what exactly do they do?
Just add to your account showing how halpful you've been and contribute to your team??

Wish they gave you some Playstation store credit even if it was just £1 for so many stuff or even 50p would encourage more ppl to do more

Nah, it's all based on people being helpful. And the points give you a ranking! Wohoo!

I've just re-installed it on my 1.6 centrino laptop :p it doesn't go like the ganders, but it still chuggs its way through the WU's (hopefully just like it used to when I was in the KustomPCs team :) )

this WU i've just got is 500 frames and takes 10 days @ 30 mins est per frame! this could be a long haul then.....:d

The newly released ATi Catalyst drivers (8.4) offer GPU support for Folding@Home, you can grab 'em here. I'm a lazy bastard so I don't think I'll be using this feature, but just so you know.
