So the Closed Beta Testing has rolled over into the CBT-2 period, with AvA (Agency vs. Agency = Guild vs. Guild) campaign combat being tested on the next testing weekend/week. I still enjoy the game, although a fair bit of the novelty wore off and with little community feeling the short betatesting and random battlegrounds offer I am less extatic about it than I was before.

One thing to note, however - as a beta participant I have the possibility to prepurchase (release date has been set to February 1st and will not be moved) for lowered price (go me) or prepurchase a 4pack for even lower price (135 USD, amounting to some 34 USD per copy). The advantage of the 4pack is that the three keys I will not use for myself will enable their recipients the access to the rest of the betatesting.

I myself am not 100% sure I will buy and play this game when it comes out, as it still needs a fair amount of work, but 34 USD is not much money and I thought people might be interested in the idea of getting into the beta (and getting the game at lower price).

Hence the question: would there be interest in prepurchasing the 4pack? Note: I can only get ONE and one of the 4 people has to be me.

Right, another bump:

Global Agenda outs on 2nd February via Steam and is available for pre-purchase right now. The payment plan can be found in one of my previous messages (35ish euro one-time payment and you can play it as a mmo-shooter for as long as you like, additional 12ish euro a month subscription to acces the world conquest guild PvP features and stuff).

As always, more info can be found on Global Agenda website :)

Hey, :)

So, a couple of friends of mine have picked this up, but I haven't been able to swap opinions with them, yet.

Might as well ask, is there anyone playing or planning to play this regularly? What are your thoughts on the game so far?

Cheers,
J.

Hey, :)

Well, it feels like shooting stuff...

The one thing I can tell you is, because you can only play in a team, there's weird dynamics that not everyone willl like to put up with.

First off, you get to select whether you want to play on a balanced team or whatever team first pops up. If you choose balanced, you can be in for extended waits. If you choose whatever, then chances are you're going to be playing without a medic, which is a pain, to say the least.

Secondly, regardless of whether your team is balanced or not, you can get stuck with players who know what they're doing, or at elast want to learn, or you can get stuck with players that are utter noobtards. Because the team formation is automatic, it's rather hard to keep track of who's good and who's trash, and even if you could, it would be a case of bowing out of a mission once it's about to start.

All that aside, however, if you have friends you can play with and discuss gameplay with, I'm quite enjoying the game itself...

Then again, I've only ever really tried PvE, yet, and have no idea what the PvP is like...

Cheers,
J.

Oh! Then you are missing out on the lead element of the game! I know your dislike towards PvP-related activities, but you really should give it a shot (quite literally, heh), it's much more dynamic than PvE stuffs - at least from what I have seen! Back in the day PvE was rather boring and not balanced too well - some bosses were pushovers, others killers - some even used exploits or were completel invisible :D

Hey, :)

Well, there's two different modes of PvP, normal 4x4, and Conquest 10x10 (which they call AvA).

I intend to take a look at all that stuff once I hit 30. (Max level is 50, but from 30 on, it's just bragging rights, as you don't get any more equipment or talent points...)

By the way, I don't have a dislike for PvP activities across all games. :) It's just that, on WoW, random world PvP has thrown me off of it in that game...

Cheers,
J.

4v4 PvP? The heck is that about... What I remember is AvA (which wasnt available yet when I played) and regular "BGs" that were 10v10 or something like that (may have been 12v12, not sure). 4v4 sounds a bit like Arena to me.

It is what it is.

There's also a special type of PvE mission which is 6-person, but where two of the people are randomly selected to be infiltrators and turn coats on the team...

UBER NECRO!

It's on "Sale" on steam atm, (£18.74) if anyone has ever thought of getting this.

It's rather good, got it yesterday (and downloaded overnight), tried out a few classes, but fell in love with the Medic.

** Note: This game has -NO- subscription Fee, once you buy it, that's it. **

It's a 3rd person shooter MMO that's accually rather fun.
