Ok, so TWG is over. And it's over in a rubbish way, and for that I am sorry.
Firstly, this is not in character (though, I am a God and expect you all to worship me from now on
), and that is mainly because TWG has fallen apart behind the scenes.
Let me repeat that,
it has fallen apart behind the scenes. The players, you guys, have been awesome. I have never seen people get into the game as much as you guys did. The posting in character, the choosing of professions, and everything which I didn't even think of doing, you guys sorted out yourselves, and made it work.
However, it hasn't worked out, and so I am sorry. But then, this has taught me and others a lot about the game; how it works, what's a good idea, what's a bad idea, etc.
Ok, so the final character roles:
- Ronin_Storm is an innocent villager.
- Nanor is an innocent villager.
- Piacular is the Seer.
Yeah, sucks, doesn't it?
The two wolves were
thatbloke (which you all know) and
Taffy. Now, Taffy was away for the weekend, which lead most of you to ignore him as a suspect. thatbloke was kind enough, when I asked him, to carry on the killings in Taffy's place (ie, PMing me every night), as I thought Taffy would make it back by Sunday evening. He didn't say he would be back by then, so it was my mistake.
As such, I ignored my own rule (2 days without voting for the lynch is auto-death) in the hope that I could bring Taffy back into the game without ending the game on such a low note: "Taffy hasn't voted for 2 days. The Gods kill him with a bolt of lightning, he dies. Oh yeah, he was the wolf. Game over!" It would have sucked quite a lot. As such, there was a plan to try and give a decent ending to the game, but it fell apart. Poop to it. It's a learning experience, and hopefully the next TWG won't make the same mistakes.
Also, I would strongly suggest that if you know you are going to be away for more then 24 hours during a TWG, don't bother signing up as you will miss the majority of the game. This isn't a dig at Taffy, so I hope no one feels it is. I'm just saying
All that being said, I think that most people who played the game enjoyed it. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry you didn't, I truly am. I enjoyed watching from the outlines, and providing a story very good fun. It really was awesome until the last day! So thank you for letting me do that!
If you feel this has been a complete waste of time, then I would ask that you do play the next TWG, and just see how it goes. This isn't going to happen again hopefully.
Now, finally, Piacular found a little weakness in the game. THN, being so uber, has a
link to show who is online, and what they are doing. So, if you are PMing, it shows your status as PMing. Piacular, being the little detective he is, worked out that not many people (mostly just the admins) PMed a lot. So when thatbloke was PMing at the end of the first day, he figured thatbloke had to be either a wolf or the Seer. Obviously, he wasn't the Seer.
He told me about this as soon as he possibly could, and so I had a chat with thatbloke (without saying who found out), saying that the Seer had worked it out, etc. thatbloke and Piacular both agreed not to look at the currently active link again during the game, and I trusted both. To protect Taffy from this, I also asked all my PMing to Taffy to go through thatbloke.
So, this is a warning for future TWGs. The best solution, short of not using THN to send PMs, that we have managed to come up with is to ask everyone to send a "pray" or some such every night. Now, people don't have to do this, but from now on, people have the choice. So even if someone does see another player PMing who doesn't usually, they may just be praying.
