Although Dr. Wraith seems to have some kind of revenge to take out on me, I vote for no action in an attempt to stay off the foul beasts that are plagueing us with the use of prayer.

Perhaps if these prayers go unanswered by this time tomorrow then we townsfolk shall have to take matters into our own hands...

that I can survive starvation.

I too, following Miller Taffy's kindness, will provide you with the food you need. Everyday that I catch some game, I will surely share with you that that I can afford to give away. However, I ask not for money in return, but some arrows that I may kill these evil beast with, to rid this world of the ungodly, and inhumane creatures.

If you could, being a man of science, make for me such arrows, I will gladly feed you until the end of my time in this beautiful village.

As for the matter of lynching, I feel that some people are becoming far too aggressive and quick to judge... We must be sensible about this, and we must out-think these evil doers. Therefore, I will cast my vote aside and abstain. I wish to be clever than those who wish to end us. Now, I have spent a large part of the day grieving for my friend, and I need to practise my archery. Good day to you all!

The death of Bambi grieves me so.

I can not face any more death this day!

Therefore I cast a Vote of Abstention .

I agree with all, Although we must strike against these beasts at some point, we should not strike without judgement or reason. Therefore I cast a vote of Abstination and hope that we may last out the night

Sleep well my friends

It is not revenge on you that I seek, but the elimination of the evil that stalks among us in human guise. I readily admit I have no proof that you are anything other than what you claim to be, but of all the citizens of this town I can think of no other with as many links to werewolves or reasons to indulge in such dark arts as lycanthropy. My reasons have been stated before but I will say them again, in what I believe to be the order of importance.
1. A family history - the thatbloke of New Haven, a relative of yours, was revealed to be a werewolf.
2. A possibly corrupting position of power and a desire to keep it.
3. Denial of a simple request for aid from one in a position supremely able to render that assistance. Others have offered to help out of their own reserves and yet you deny a small allocation from the towns reserves.

It appears my fellow townsfolk have not been swayed by the thoughts I have presented to them. I have naught but theories, but to me they are compelling, so I will hold to the courage of my convictions. I only hope and pray that I am wrong, for if I am right, we have lost an opportunity that will be difficult to come by again.

[desc]The last light of day disappears over the horizon taking with it all sense of warmth and security that comes from its incandescent circle. Instead, the moon spreads a chill on the evening, the town square of Havenburg empty.

The great oak tree that, in darker times, serves as gallows for the town was left unsullied by the death of a townsperson, be they friend or foe, this evening, governed by their near unanimous vote. Was this a wise choice on the part of Havenburg's populace? Only time will tell.

In their beds, Havenburg's people sleep but not soundly for fear that a darkness may creep up in the night. Perhaps it is hiding under their beds...? Or in their closets...? Or just behind the bathroom door...?

Candles and matchboxes to hand, and a blade or bludgeoning implement by it, Havenburg dreams uneasily.[/desc]

It is night of day 1. Day break will be around 11:00 BST; I will make a "day breaks" post to end the night's actions. I will accept changes to actions up 'til that post is made, when I will use the last action provided to me (or "no action" if none is provided).

No one was lynched.

  • Townspeople, you are asleep and can take no further action until dawn.
  • Wolves, let me know who you want to maul.
  • Seer, let me know who you want to check.
  • Occultist, let me know which Ghost you want to interrogate.
  • Night Watch Captain, let me know who want to protect, even if that is yourself.

One Ghost remains in Havenburg: Hunter Bambi (for 1 day and 2 nights more).

Two townspeople failed to make it to the town square to vote this evening (Miller Taffy & Night Watch Captain SgtFury). Horrible things happen to such townspeople if that happens twice in a row (or just "a lot" through the game).

Inside his House Night Watch captain SgtFury could see the huddled group outside, inside he wanted to join them, but the fear that gripped him was too much. All he could think about was the sight of phatbambi's body and what the beasts had done to him.

"How am i supposed to protect these people?" he thought to himself. "Who should I protect?"

In public Fury had always tried to project a strong image to the townspeople. If he did not have the strength to defend them who would? But the thought of facing a powerful foe like a werewolf brought cold shivers to his core.

Slowely though, over time that night, Fury realised what he would have to do and found the inner strength to do it. He stood up, pulled on his tabard, reached for his shield and sword and walked into the night towards, what Fury thought, might be the next victim's house................

[desc]Day breaks...[/desc]

No more night actions can take place. I'll be posting an update in a little while but my computer is dying by parts so give me a few to get that sorted first.

[desc]Dawn, a new day and it opens with a red sky. The old saying goes, "Red sky at night, shepherd's delight; red sky at morning, shepherd's warning." This morning's rising sun brings with it a red reminiscent of fresh blood.

The townspeople of Havenburg are not afforded their usually sleepy morning, however, as only a few minutes after sunrise the town bell rings out in alarm. Panicked shouts from the farmhands that serve in the Night Watch spreads distress amongst the more timorous of Havenburg's populace and weeping women huddle on street corners even before any actual news is uncovered.

It is Mayor Thatbloke who finally brings order out of chaos, being the first official to the scene of carnage only a block away from his home. Blood spatters the walls of a dark alley, body parts strewn in sickening confusion. Three men died here, men of the Night Watch given the tatters of their livery and the rent shields and shattered blades. Such forensics as available in these times might speak to a situation such as follows...

Three men laid in wait in this alley. Who or what they waited for, in particular, 'tis impossible to surmise. The alley has good sight lines to Mayor Thatbloke's house, that much is certain, but also but a street away from Carpenter Tetsuo and two from Weaponsmith Sephiroth. Still, they lay in wait, weapons at the ready, when they were ambushed from behind. Rents in the dirt of the alley indicate the beast's arrival and their work was swift. Perhaps one or two were wounded, it seems the men put up what fight they could under such duress, but they were bested quickly.

And so it is, amongst the carnage, that the body of Night Watch Captain SgtFury is discovered, heart torn out... and missing entirely, apparently. His lifeless eyes have a courageous set to them, even at the last; 'tis certain he died fighting, outflanked and overwhelmed.

Denied their protector, what will the people of Havenburg do now?[/desc]

It is daytime of day 2. Nightfall will be at roughly 23:00 BST; I will make a "night falls" post to indicate that this has taken place and that voting has ended.

Townspeople, discuss, deliberate and decide who the evil is amongst you. By nightfall, you must vote and choose the fate of one of your number. Please vote in bold. Your last vote is the one I will count.

From today onwards, you must vote or veto; you can no longer use the "no lynch" vote.

Two Ghosts now haunt Havenburg: Hunter Bambi, for one day and one night, and Night Watch Captain SgtFury, for two days and two nights. They partake in the discussion but not the votes.

Over to you...

Captain SgtFury has died doing the job he loved, protecting the citizens of Havenburg!

It seems obvious to me that they aim to kill me in an effort to cause disruption and confusion amongst the ranks! It is now clear that we, the citizens of Havenburg, need to take matters into our own hands.

I am highly suspicious of Dr. Wraith in this instance, after all, was it not the case that he voted to lynch me not yesterday, when the rest of you citizens saw sense? I fear that there may be more to him than meets the eye, and so, citizens of Havenburg I put it to you that we drive Dr. Wraith from our midst as an evil and corrupt being!!!

After this attack I fear that I may not live the night, and therefore implore that you continue this crusade and eliminate this curse from our midst so that Havenburg can prosper!

Fury ... Brave, noble Night Watch Fury ... :( He died trying to save our people, he shall never be forgotten! *sheds a tear* I'll use all my skills of carpentry to make him the best coffin I can, he deserves it! *hammers in several nails*

Tonight, I feel that it is my duty as a citizen of the fine village of Havensburg to vote in the lynching of the wolf in our midst. I see that Dr Wraith and our esteemed Mayor thatbloke have already started hurling accusations at each other - all I can say is that I don't blame the Mayor for voting Dr Wraith. Now, I don't want to jump to unjustified conclusions, as Dr Wraith appears to have done already, so I'll muse upon this matter some more with my fellow craftsmen - blacksmith midge and weaponsmith Sephiroth - to attempt to come to a reasonable decision.

Slowly realisation dawns on Captain Sgtfury to his prediciment and what must have happened. Although part of him feels compelled to go on to the next level of existance, something pulls him back to the town centre of New Havenburg

Beware citizens. Treachery is abound and not all is as it seems. In my heart I believed in our town and our ways but above all in upholding law and order, but something made of chaos is lurking in our midst.

I believed in the Mayor Thatbloke. I believed they would try and sow mored disorder never realising I might be their target. I now think my loyalty was misguided, that all along trying to protect our civil order I would turn my back towards the source of all our problems.

Slowly Captain SgtFury fades away almost to nothing and all the town can hear is

Don't trust Thatbloke

Oh dear god. Our protector has been murdered by these foul beasts... The one person whom we, the innocents, knew we could trust, and the evils of this world has taken him from us.

We must stand together and face these deamons as our Night Watch Captain himself did. We must drive these evil doers from our town, and we must slain them as they have to our kind.

They do not deserve the breath they breathe...

They do not deserve the breath they breathe...

how right you are elD, they do not deserve to live, the children are forced away from the school and the village for safety and i feel my life isn't worth living. From now on i will ponder long the situation that has foresaken our village watching and noting everything that happens. where is taffy in this time of fear and worry. After his 2nd cousin was found to be of the sneakiest calibre in new haven and was found to be a wolf i fear his lack of voice in these times is deeply concerning. Also Dr. Wraith seems to be more mentally unstable than previously thought. His mad inventions have plague the village for years, but now casting aspersions on our friend the mayor.

Who knows in these hard times.
