Meh, don't eat stuff you don't enjoy. Diets / lifestyle etc has to be something you can be happy with long term. The only guaranteed way to lose weight is to change what you eat and do to something you can honestly say you enjoy or are at least ok with.
I hate salads.
For lunch today I have some home-cooked roast chicken (with herbs and spices) and rice. very tasty and not unhealthy. I even eat the skin, but you know what, everything is fine in moderation.
Somtimes I eat steak or lamb chops. I do buy lean and trim the fat though, plus I use a griddle pan, which drains a lot of the fat but everything is still super-nom. I eat chips - oven chips, small portions. Or potato waffles. Or rice.
Per week a bottle of wine, 2-3 choc bars, cpl bags crisps, eating a *little* animal fat or skin. It's all fine. So long as you can get a couple of hours exercise in there too.
Only things I'd say be ultra cautious of, or even give up completely, are:
Sugary drinks (the ultimate hidden calories, 2 cans a day is like 20% your RDA)
High sat. fat products - full fat milk (buy semi skimmed!), cheese (nb. Fine in moderation and good to use in cooking I know), cheesecake, creamy deserts, creamy drinks.
Chocolate (again, I can't give this up, but if you're eating 50g or more a day ure doing it wrong)
BOOZE (insane amount of calories, plus alcohol turns into a very difficult to get rid of fat). This is my ultimate vice. If you must drink, try limit to once a week and even then 4 pints, or a bottle of wine, or 4 shots of vodka (latter is least cals).
Crisps - Try to switch to baked snacks like quavers, wotsits, monster munch. Fried crisps litke standard walkers or kettle chips have much more fat in.
