Those are bastards. I useally just block them off / hide unless I can attack without them shooting me.

there are mapping utilities where you can find where the nice stuff is, but then converting frmo the map to where you are in the world is sort of tricky underground.

If you had a mod that just shows an arrow to funky stuff it sort of ruins the fun cos youre just following arrows, rather than exploring/discovering.

That woulda SO helped when I was in the Nether last time. My portal appeared in the Nether's roof, so when I was digging for a viable way down, a Wraith noticed me and proceeded to fire at my carefully constructed wall/walkway down to the surface

..and traxata saves the day! apparently I had to download java using iexp 64bit. Now why didn't I think of that... have a cookie! yay! Now I can run around being scared senseless by the monsters again!
